Introduction:After operating in Taiwan for 16 years, the coffee brand Let's Café under Japan’s convenience store chain FamilyMart has launched its first standalone experiential store, Let's Café PLUS, on Zhongshan North Road in Taipei. This 130-square-meter space focuses on specialty coffee and light meals, offering everything from single-origin pour overs to iced drip specials, with the limited-edition Taiwanese Yunlin Gukeng Geisha iced drip being the most expensive drink on the menu. This article introduces the store’s features, coffee offerings, light meal options, and eco-friendly initiatives to help you plan your visit.
After 16 years of deep involvement in Taiwan’s coffee market, FamilyMart has opened its first standalone coffee experience store, Let's Café PLUS, at No. 71, Section 2, Zhongshan North Road, Taipei, marking the brand’s official entry into the specialty coffee arena. The store began soft opening on December 22, operating from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM, with an official grand opening scheduled for December 26.
As part of Japan’s major convenience store group, FamilyMart entered the Taiwan market in 1988 and launched its coffee brand Let's Café in 2006. Let's Café PLUS is not only the brand’s first standalone store but also demonstrates its commitment to transitioning from convenience store coffee to specialty coffee. The store design abandons FamilyMart’s signature green elements, instead adopting the brand’s deep blue as the main tone to create a calm and premium atmosphere.
The Let's Café PLUS store covers approximately 130 square meters and offers around 30 seats, with extensive use of wooden elements to create a spacious and comfortable lounge area. The coffee menu is diverse, featuring single-origin pour overs, iced drips, sparkling coffee, Americanos, and honey Americanos, with prices ranging from 80 to 500 New Taiwan Dollars. Regular Americanos and lattes are priced at 100 and 130 NT respectively, which is within a reasonable range.
The most eye-catching item is the limited-edition Taiwanese Yunlin Gukeng Geisha iced drip coffee, priced at 500 NT—the most expensive drink on the menu—and available only in limited quantities daily. For those who prefer hot drinks, there’s also a hot drip version using the same beans, priced at 400 NT. This iced drip coffee showcases Let's Café PLUS’s dedication to the specialty coffee segment, offering customers a unique flavor experience.
In addition to coffee, the store also offers a variety of Douting teas, freshly blended smoothies, and dairy drinks, such as blueberry banana milk smoothies and seasonal strawberry milk smoothies, all made with small-farm fresh milk to ensure quality. For light meals, there are nearly 30 options including honey pancakes, chocolates, mentaiko cheese, clafoutis, salads, and sandwiches, with prices between 70 and 250 NT, offering great value for money.
Let's Café PLUS continues FamilyMart’s eco-friendly philosophy by providing free rentals of reusable takeaway cups, discounts for bringing your own eco-friendly cup, and using wheat-based eco straws to reduce single-use plastics. These measures not only align with modern consumers’ expectations for sustainability but also strengthen the brand image.
It is reported that Let's Café in Taiwan has already sold 160 million cups annually, with a target of surpassing 200 million cups by 2023. Single-origin pour overs maintain a high annual growth rate of 15%-20%. The launch of Let's Café PLUS reflects the brand’s strategy to expand its presence in the specialty coffee market after solidifying its market foundation, offering consumers even more diverse choices.
